The resin driveway installation starts with excavation. We excavate to a minimum depth of 300mm below the finished level using plant machinery. A permeable geotextile membrane is then laid across the entire area. Next, we install a compacted, clean hardcore base at a minimum depth of 180mm to create a solid hardstanding, permeable foundation. Before laying the final resin surface at a depth of 20mm, we install either a no-fines permeable concrete or open-graded tarmac sub base. To make your driveway stand out, a selection of paving materials can be used as a border.

The short answer is yes, but there are a few factors to consider before starting this project. It’s important to assess the condition of the existing surface. While minor cracks or small areas of damage can be repaired, surfaces that are significantly damaged or uneven may need to be removed and replaced with a suitable base.

We can overlay on top of tarmac and concrete as long as they are in good condition. However, we do not lay resin over block paving due to its flexibility. If a company is willing to lay resin on block paving, you should be cautious and reconsider proceeding.

A resin-bound driveway offers a low-maintenance solution for homeowners. While heavy maintenance isn’t necessary, regular cleaning is essential to prevent any issues that might lead to repairs.

To keep your driveway in good condition, regularly sweep it with a stiff outdoor brush to remove debris and prevent moss growth. For stubborn dirt or stains, you can use a jet washer to clean the surface.

However, it’s important to be cautious when using a jet washer on resin surfaces, as excessive pressure can damage the driveway and compromise its integrity. We recommend using a jet washer with a maximum pressure of less than 150 bar.

Before jet washing, thoroughly sweep the driveway to remove any loose debris. Use mild water temperatures, as extremely hot or cold water could damage the surface. Keep the nozzle at least 20 cm away from the driveway while spraying, and use a sweeping motion to avoid concentrating pressure in one spot for too long.
